We are a family of three living in a spacious five-room HDB point block in Ang Mo Kio. My son is 5 years old and he loves animals. He has been regularly exposed to all types of animals since young and he is very gentle and loving towards them. He enjoys giving the dogs belly rubs, bringing them for evening walks, and playing fetch with them.
My husband and I run our own business at an office in Thomson area. Our schedule is relatively flexible and we're able to accommodate requests for early or late drop-offs and pick-ups when necessary (within reason, of course). For dogs who need plenty of human company, they are welcome to spend the day in the office with us for lots of affection and attention! We have been boarding dogs for two years now and we thoroughly enjoy having furry friends at our home. We promise to love and treat your pets like they're our own.
We usually only take in one pet at a time. However, if there are any overlaps in bookings especially during peak periods, all owners will be consulted first before we proceed with any co-boarding arrangements (max. 3 dogs). During peak periods (June & Dec school holidays, public holidays, and long weekends), we will charge an additional $30 per day if you need us to exclusively board your dog alone.
We're able to provide home boarding, home visits*, and dog walking* services (* for Ang Mo Kio, Bishan, and Thomson areas only). We also welcome little hamsters, terrapins, fishes, and reptiles as well. A loving and warm temporary home for your pets is guaranteed!
Do you have any pets at home?
We have three medium-sized terrapins living in a tank in our home.
Where are you situated?
We live in the heart of Ang Mo Kio, a seven-minute walk from the MRT station. Ours is an old-school HDB point block (1270sqft), which means there's plenty of space inside the house for your pet to run around. There is a jogging track and garden just below our block and we usually bring the dogs there for their daily walks. We are also near the park (next to AMK MRT), Bishan/AMK Park (short drive away), and established vets and pet shops within our vicinity.
What type of environment will my dog be living in?
Our home is a mid-floor unit. It is usually very breezy and quiet (away from the main road). It is a cage-free environment and your dog will be free to roam around our living spaces. Your dog is able to sleep anywhere in the main living areas of the house. Will we get daily updates during their stay?
Yes, definitely! We will send you daily updates (once a day), sharing photos, videos or simply describing how your pet has been during his/her stay with us.
What are the check-in and check-out timings?
We are flexible with check-in and check-out timings. Just let us know your preference in advance and we will work out something comfortable for everyone.
Do you provide pick-up and drop-off services?
This service is available on request. It is dependent on our availability and transport charges will apply.
What other services do you provide?
Daily walks, belly rubs, regular playtime, and lots of love are included in the Pawradise boarding experience.
Anything else I (the dog owner) need to note?
Your dog should be potty-trained. We will try our best to give maximum care and attention to your dog, but he/she should be able to stay at home alone for at least 3-4 hours at a stretch, where necessary. Any of your dog's medical conditions or aggressive behaviours MUST be shared with us (we have a five-year-old son at home!). Other special arrangements such as home-cooking for your pets, administering medicine, keeping the aircon on, grooming drop-off & pick-up, etc, can be discussed and these may be charged additionally.
Once the boarding is confirmed, I will send you a packing list so you know what to bring for the stay. I will also send you a questionnaire so youcan provide us with the necessary information we need. Edible items like food and treats must be provided by the dog owner to minimise any risk of allergies or stomach upset. All dogs must be clean and groomed prior to boarding (especially for long-stay dogs).
Are there any dogs you don't board?
We are unable to take in dogs with ticks or fleas, lack proper vaccinations, or have any aggression towards humans. We usually wipe the dog's paws and private areas after each walk so the dog must allow us to do so.
I'm keen to board my dog at your place. What's the next step?
All owners and dogs must come to my place for an informal meet & greet session. The meet & greet typically lasts 15-30 minutes. We will discuss the dog's requirements during the session and assess if both parties are comfortable to proceed with the boarding. For dogs that board for more than 2 weeks, they will have to come for a free four-hour daycare session for us to assess the dog's suitability before confirmation.
Joann's family has been absolutely amazing with my dog Oscar. The three of them have been spending two days a week with him, and from their lunchtime updates, I know that Oscar is in safe hands - lots of playtime, treats and belly rubs. They are super reliable, attentive, patient, punctual and go the extra mile by sending him home to me when they have to work late. They genuinely love spending time with dogs and know what they're doing. Now, Oscar gets mopey if he doesn't get to see them. <3
Joann is a lovely pet sitter. Her family took good care of my dog, walked him 2x a day and updated me with pictures on a daily basis. Will definitely send my dog to her again for my next holiday. If you need a reliable pet sitter, I recommend Joann.
