About Melvin

We are a couple residing in a 2-room condominium in Bukit Timah with a 1 year old playful corgi that is sociable with other dogs. We work from home most of the time and will be looking after your pet ourselves! Our apartment is on the first floor, with a small park behind where your furkid will be brought for daily walks. We have >5 years handling and boarding different breeds of dogs for our friends and relatives, ranging from toy poodles, Shih tzus, Maltese, to skittish rescue Singapore Specials. Additionally, we have handled and boarded many corgis before and we are definitely corgi lovers, hence if you are a corgi owner looking for boarders with experience handling corgis, do reach out to us! You will be assured that your furkid will enjoy your time with us!

Our Rates (Day Care): 

All dogs: $50
 

Our Rates (Boarding):

Small dogs <10kg: $50 per night 

Medium dogs >10-15kg: $55 per night 

Large dogs >15kg: $60 per night

Our Rates (Boarding for Peak Periods e.g. Christmas, CNY): 

Small dogs <10kg: $60 per night

Medium dogs >10-15kg: $70 per night

Large dogs >15kg: $80 per night 

Special Considerations 

  • We accept last minute bookings, just message us with your request! 

  • We accept bookings for holiday seasons! 

  • We accept bookings for long periods! 

  • Although we are available for the above periods, we have a set of criteria for boarding dogs and do not accept just any dog that requests for boarding.

    • Services we provide:

    Pick Up/Drop-off  

    • We are flexible in terms of the pick-up and drop-off timing 

    • We can provide transport at the following rates: 25$ one-way (requires 3 days advanced notice); 35$ one-way (emergency transport cases)

      • Daily boarding schedule 

      • Your dog will be walked twice daily. (Negotiable if your pet requires more/less walks per day!) 

      • We will follow your dog's feeding schedule.  

      • We have plenty of interactive and enrichment toys for your dog to play with!  

      • Your dog may socialize and interact with our playful 1-year-old male corgi under supervision. 

      • You will be updated via Whatsapp with photos and videos of your dog daily.

        • Important points to note 

        • Please make sure your dog is up to date with his/her vaccinations.  

        • We have a park directly behind our place which we will bring your dog for his/her daily walks. 

        • We only board 1 dog at a time.

        • Your dog may be left alone for a few hours with our corgi (in separate playpens) while we are out running errands.

        • If your dog is a picky eater and fussy with food, we will try to feed him/her again once after 1 hour. If your dog still does not want to eat, unfortunately we cannot leave the food around the house and wait for your dog to eat as the food will attract pests such as ants and cockroaches. We will try feeding again during his/her next meal.

          • VERY IMPORTANT: Dogs we are unable to accept for boarding

          • Unspayed/unneutered dogs >1.5 years of age. 

          • Any separation anxiety. Dogs sent to us for boarding should have no separation anxiety.

          • Any escape tendencies.

          • Whine and bark excessively. We are residing in a condominium complex and it may cause disturbance and complaints from neighbours.

          • We do not accept dogs that are not playpen trained. E.g. whining and barking non-stop when placed in a playpen.

            Melvin and his wife have been excellent caregivers for Biscuit! Videos and photos were sent regularly throughout the day. It was so assuring to go overseas knowing that Biscuit was in excellent hands. Sparky also made him feel so welcome and Biscuit had lots of fun playing with him. It was so wonderful looking at the videos of Biscuit and Sparky playing happily. Will certainly engage them again when I need a petsitter!

            Boarded my malamute puppy Ellie with Melvin’s for a period of 6 nights and was very assured throughout with constant pics/vids update. Ellie had a great time visiting new grounds and playing with Sparky!

            Will def recommend Melvin’s to anyone looking to board their doggos :)
