I am pet lover although I do not have any pets of my own. I have been pet-sitting for several years now. It all started after graduating from high school, when my teacher asked for my help to feed her dogs twice a day. Since then, I started helping friends and families with their pets. I either house-sit, or provide house-boarding. All dependable on the situation and preference of both parties. Being a pet-lover myself, I enjoy playing with the animals. Eg. Fetch, or simple obedience training with the aid of a treat.
I have helped dog-sit several breeds such as Beagles,
Shih-Tsu, Husky, Schnauzer, Pomeranian and Jack Russel. I have experience with small animals like guinea pigs too.
Each pet will stick to their daily diet and toileting routine. Hence walking of the dogs is definitely included in house-sitting. Walking the dogs generally will be about 30mins (+/-), depending on their age stamina. Administering oral medication may not be my forte, but I'll be happy to know of any tricks that can be applied. Eg mixing it in their food or feeding via a syringe. I do not have any pets of my own, therefore there's no need worry that your pet will have to try to get along with another pet, nor fear that your pet will not get the full attention.
Before the service commences, I would also like to get to know about your pet. Eg. Their toileting habits, favourite food or treat. Whether or not they love to shower, tricks to making them take their supplements/medication. What their bad habit is (eg. Chewing on socks). This will help me understand better, bond with them faster and
ease into their routine smoothly.
It is important to provide information of your preferred vet just in case of emergencies, especially for cases if you're needing the service because of overseas travel. Something which some pet owners tend to forget
