About Alexandra

Big fan of animals. From small dogs to huge horses. I've had opportunities to interact and handle them all. Have worked at the Vet, Dog Daycare and even in the Horse Stables. Very commited to ensure that animals will always be a very big part of my life. Experience with various dog breeds, even disabled and terminally ill ones. So 99% of the time, there will not be an issue I've not encountered and will be able to respond appropriately. If your dog needs special attention, medication etc. Rest assured they will be taken care of. Have dog sat for my relatives many times and house sat for friends and their relatives as well. They will be given a cushy environment and will be in air conditioned environment most of the time. If your pet goes out for walks, so does mine!

Normal stays will include two walks per day around the estate. I know it’s long, but almost all your questions, queries & need to knows are below. If your pet stays for a week and up, we likely will visit the West Coast Dog Run. But this is not guaranteed, usually depends on weather conditions, your furbys good behaviour & etc. We do go to the beach from time to time as well. These benefits are mostly open to regular boarders or long term boarders as we’ve bonded with them long enough to establish a trust & being able to manage them outside of the home. Boarders who stay for a week will also get a hypo-allergic shower, applies for every subsequent week as well. Thumbs up for fresh smelling pets. Experienced with basic dog training as well. Basic commands etc. If your pet is an indoorsy kinda fella, the house is also equipped with pee trays and toys to entertain them. Rest assured if your pet requries urgent medical attention at any time, I also have a vehicle to transport them immediately to seek help to either your designated vet or my regular vet. Photos and Video updates will be provided, see what they're doing, how much fun they're having and whether they're assimilating. Pick Up and Drop Off is available for an additional rate, depending on how far the location is. Any other further information that you'd like to know, feel free to contact me. Criteria: Flea & Tick Prevention.

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. We regularly have boarders, & a resident pet ourselves. Even if your dog is strictly indoors, these pests have legs & may find their way to your furby. We will not be responsible for any flea or tick infestation should one manifest. As all boarders including our resident pet aka Manager Andy are on some form of flea & tick prevention. Should a tick or flea bite them, it should die within 24 hours. No eggs laid, no infestation, no passing it on to the next dog etc. If your furkid is found to be infested with Ticks or Fleas, we will have to call a specialist to exterminate and clear them of the plague, & you would have to very unfortunately bear the costs. Which does not come cheap, and is a hugeeeee pain in the ass. If you’ve never seen a tick, it’s harder to kill than a cockroach. & can hibernate up to three years without feeding, and lay thousands of eggs at a go. So I beseech you all to take necessary precautions. It is advisable to apply topical flea & tick drops three days before, and oral medications 48 hours before checking in. If your furkid is staying for more than the duration of the prevention medication, you may provide us with a dose to administer as well. We understand some pawrents feel that some of the options are too harsh, and prefer a holistic approach, essential oils, flea collar etc and that’s fine. But these are not 100% and they work as deterrents, they will not kill these pests if they manage to latch on and circling back, if an infestation manifests, you will be accountable. I don’t mean to scare you, I myself am scared. I’ve gone through this before, and sure as hell don’t want to. It’s beyond an inconvenience. The pawrents whom I informed their furkid was infested had ticks crawling on the walls of their home. Imagine that. So we seek your understanding why this is so important to us. Your dog needs to have some level of toilet training. For small breeds we can and may diaper them if they’re not 100% toilet trained, but this rule is strictly enforced for larger breeds. I’m sure the logic behind that is evident. No one wants a huge puddle of pee Everyday on their furniture or anywhere else for that matter. Destructive behaviour & Noise level has to be non-existent or minimal. Case to case basis. From time to time we get the crazy chewer and pee pad shredder. Manageable, but if your furby has a liking for wires and a daredevil personality, jumping on counter tops (sounds ridiculous but we’ve had those) we may not be the right fit. Nuisance barkers will also be turned down, as in a home setting, we have neighbours to think about. Your dog needs to be social or at the very least tolerant towards other dogs. As I have a resident dog, they cannot be aggressive or territorial. So if your dog is aggressive towards dogs, this is not the place for them. I would recommend owners to look for sitters with zero pets and that only take one pet at a time. For safety reasons. Pawrent needs to be understanding, to the fact that at any given time your dog may cross paths with other dogs, and playtime can get ruff sometimes. (Pun intended.) They may sustain superficial scrapes and scuffs. Humans are around to break it up if things escalate. But even children get hurt when playing with other kids. Whilst we do not aim to give them playground battle wounds, but sometimes these things happen. Rest assured we will disinfect and make sure they get home in one piece, clean & happy. Not emotionally scarred. There will be on occasion that some dogs whilst friendly with others may not get along well with others, just like people, even the most social human has their dislikes. Though we do assess the dogs that come in, we cannot guarantee they are good with every and any dog. In the unfortunate event it’s your furby, we would have to segregate him/her from the pack. Don’t fret, while they may not enjoy the benefits of having fellow boarders to play with, they will enjoy additional human attention to make up for it. If your dog is a senior dog, or does not like to be bothered by other dogs, a happy bystander. We would definitely help them fend off playful furbies or Ensure they’re apart at the very least.

What to Bring? Food Bowl, Food, Instruction Manual, Something Worn, Pee Pen (if any), Toys & Bedding (Optional), Treats (Optional) Additional, it’ll be great to take a picture of their vet card, with important information included such as your name, their id etc & all the items you’ll be packing in for them, and send them over as a visual check-list. It just makes it easier for us to identify and make sure you get everything you brought back. Instruction Manual? Yup! Gotta know how to operate your Furby. Things to include inside would be a checklist of things you've brought along. There're owners that brings bags and bags of goodies for their Furbies. So to make sure we don't miss out anything when your Furby departs, a checklist would be very handy. This is also to avoid having to double back and get it or completely forgetting about it. Vet information, which Vet, Owners Name. Just in case anything happens that required medical attention, I can bring your furby to his/her regular Vet who has all their medical records on file. Also include any deviant behavior I should be wary of. Of course they're angels, but angels have flaws too! Such as, hide all your wires! They love to chew them apart. Plushy destroyer. Gets car sick! Even things they're scared of, thunder, shadows or loud noises. So I'll be prepared & understand if they're suddenly riled up. Feeding Instructions, especially if you have them on special diets / home cooked food / food allergies. So that I can follow exactly as you do at home. Something Worn? If your furby is a first time traveller, and you got no idea whether they will experience anxiety or feel abandoned. Do include an article of clothing that you've recently worn that has your scent on it. Key word scent. Please don't bring your work out clothes. :D It helps to ease anxiety and comforts them knowing that you're somehow lingering around & haven't forgetten them. Pee Pen? Why? I do have Pee Pens, BUT. I've realized many dogs who are pee pen trained, do not recognize MY PEE PEN as THEIR PEE PEN. Find it very helpful when owners bring their own pee pen. As your dog is just familiar with it. The smell, the look, it just says "PEE HERE". Especially puppies are prone to making mistakes with unfamiliar "approved pee locations". I had one that peed on white pee pads at home, I had blue. You guys should know what happened after. Toys & Bedding. If you'd like to bring your dogs Toys, that's perfectly fine. But please bring something that you don't mind having destroyed or losing forever. As your furby may make some new friends during the course of their stay, and those friends may not be as gentle as we'd like. As for Bedding, it is optional, but if you'd like to bring it, don't worry, somehow or other, these guys can differentiate whats obviously for sleeping & what's obviously for playing. But they just can't differentiate, what toys are for heavy duty destroying vs cuddling. Treats. We do have our own stash of treats that we distribute to our furbies, from dehydrated meats, to apples to some bonus minced meat for dinner etc. But if your furby has some legit allergies (no chicken, no fish, no pork, no beef etc) or you'd just like to make sure they get their daily (remember mummy/daddy loves you) treat. You may bring your own treats as well which we will be sure to pass on to them. Checking in & Checking out: As we are humans, & so are our neighbours, our check-ins are strictly after 8am and latest pick up is 9pm as we do not wish to disturb our neighbours & we need to rest as well. If you require an earlier check in or pick up, please make that known prior, and it’ll be up to our discretion. Normally we do try to accommodate as we know some owners are anxious to reunite with their furbies. But we seek your understanding as well in the event it is not possible. Updates: We do send updates via WhatsApp from time to time, at the very least once a day, we try to send more when we can. & if we don’t feel free to ask, sometimes sending all the different pictures to all the different pawrents day in day out, we lose track. We hope you do understand it is not that easy to carry a phone around during walks, and trying to pick up poop at the same time. I do bring my phone intentionally to get some video or pictures, but not all the time, as it is simply easier to walk them without being distracted trying to take a video etc. Their safety is MY utmost priority & I’m sure it’s yours as well. At the same time, I don’t want to send you boring pictures of them just sleeping and eating. The goal is to put your mind at ease that they’re on holiday just as you are. But if you must must have a said number of updates per day, do let us know, we’ll try our very best to hit that quota, but be warned it’ll largely likely be a whole bunch of blurry and uninteresting pictures. If you didn’t already know, most of your furbies act like big shot Hollywood stars avoiding the paparazzi. So what you don’t see is the dozens of blurry photos and attempts to capture that one clear image. Of course there’re some that don’t shy away from the camera and allow me to snap a whole bunch of awesome pics. Other Services: Transport can be arranged, fee is according to distance. Quoted price would be per trip. From point A to B. Basic Grooming can be done, price depends on the breed of the dog & size. Includes shower(shampoo& condition), nail clipping, shaving of paw pads (if applicable) & hygiene areas. Brush & Blowout. Currently as we only do grooming in-house, your furkid has to be comfortable with grooming, such as nail clipping & hair cutting / shaving, as it is done in an open space & not on a grooming table. Full grooming is also available. Enquire for rates. :) Breed Record to Date: Maltipoo, Irish Setter, Labrador, Beagle, Schnauzer, Maltese, King Charles, Chow Chow, Shiba Inu, Japanese Spitz, French Bull Dog, Pug, Dachshund, Poodle, Chihuahua, Silky Terrier, Shetland Sheepdog, Cocker Spaniel, Shih Tzu, Chinese Crested, Italian Greyhound, Jack Russell Terrier, Corgi, Golden Retriever, Dalmatian, Groodle, Pomeranian, Yorkshire Terrier & Mixed Breeds. Rest assured, they'll be in good hands. After pre-approval, do maintain contact to arrange for meet & greet or any other arrangements. So I may adjust accordingly with reserving of slots for your furbies. If not, after 48hours I will assume you have found other alternative / no longer require my services. After which you will receive a message to confirm that a slot will no longer be reserved.

My 2nd daycare in 2 weeks! Alex will share a photo and short update during the stay, ensuring me that my dog is doing well at her place. My dog was happy and satisfied when I picked her up at the end of the day!
