About Myself
I have lived and grown up with pets as well as been part of various animal welfare groups and institutions. Presently, in my home, I have two handsome canines. Rino is my eleven-year-old Flat-Coated Retriever who we rescued from the SPCA after he was scheduled to be put to sleep due to behavior issues. However, we saw a loyal and affectionate pup who deserved a loving home and today, he is an integral part of my life. Rupee is my four-year-old Border Collie who was adopted from his parents’ home. He is cheeky and clumsy at times but my two dogs are the reason why I love going home after a long day. Before them, I had Sona, my Shetland Sheepdog who entered my life a few months after I was born but lived a long, wonderful life before her time came. Losing her taught me that losing a pet is like losing a loved one and during their time, pets deserve the best care and love. It was experiences like these that have led me to be pursuing my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine next year at the University of Melbourne.
My Experiences
Apart from taking care of my pets in my own home, I am have volunteered regularly with animal shelters where I have walked, bathed, groomed and trained dogs. I also have experience working in veterinary clinics as an intern. I have assisted in private clinics as well as events by government agencies (i.e. Free Pet Health Checks). I recently completed an internship with Wildlife Reserves Singapore where I was a zookeeper with the Small Mammals section in the Night Safari.
My Services
While I am not a professional dog groomer or trainer, I can provide basic services because of my experiences as a pet owner and volunteer in a shelter to ensure your pet has the best attention. As I am a university student hence my schedule differs each day. However, in the time I spend with your pet, I will devote my full attention.
My Goals
I aspire to start my own animal hospital in the future, complete with animal hydrotherapy and behavior modification services. You can be rest assured that being a pet sitter is not just another part-time job for me to earn. For me, it is an opportunity and an experience that brings me great joy and satisfaction. It brings me closer to my long-term goals as not only am I serving you and your pet, I am also learning from you and your pet. I can assure you that your pet will receive nothing but my best.
