When I care for someone else's pet, I treat them as my own. I will walk them, play with them and give them the affection they need. Being a parent to anxious furbabies myself, I understand that some pets do get anxiety when away from their owners, so I will try my best to walk and play their anxieties away.

I will also wash their paws (and butt) after a short walk (because no dirty paws allowed on the bed/couch), dry their paws and comb their fur if necessary. This is what I do on a daily basis with my own dogs. Make sure they are hydrated during (I will bring along a water bottle for walks) and after, give them some talk/play time and treats before leaving. 

What motivates me to be a pet sitter is simply that animals make me happier than humans do. I have only had prior experience helping to babysit for my sister, she has 1 Singapore special and 3 cats at home. When she is away, I will go over to her place 3 times a day to walk the dog (who is super anxious), feed them their breakfast, snack and dinner, and play with whoever wants to play, if not it is just pet and talk time.
