As the title says, I used to have pets. Lots of them. The highest record of pets in my family at one point in time were 3 guinea pigs, 2 dogs, 2 rabbits and a cat. While my mum made sure we all played our part in taking care of them, what she didn't prepare us for was the pain of losing them to old age, disease and accidents in some very unfortunate cases. So, I love animals, but I'm not so sure I'm ready to have one permanently in my life again, hence I'm trying this out. This way, I get to play with your dogs, annoy your cat or attempt to get your rabbits to respond to their names while you are overseas on your holidays (I think that is one of the most popular reasons why people need a pet sitter?), and earn a little something to cover transport or other incidental costs.
Yes, I love to travel too so I think having pets shouldn't get in the way of holidays. I try to combine my love for travelling with my love for animals whenever I can, so I visit national parks for wildlife spotting or just visit animal sanctuaries. The picture of the rhino was taken in Nepal and the sleeping dog was just a companion for a short part of my hike in the mountains in Nepal. I took so many more pictures of other domestic and non-domestic animals in Nepal, my husband doesn't understand why I have to take pictures of common animals like dogs and chickens and goats =D Another reason why I don't have a pet now is because the husband is not so keen on them.
I can help to feed, exercise, take care of or even shower (if needed) big dogs, small dogs, aloof cats, manja cats, not-so-friendly rabbits, talkative parrots, and oh! chinchillas too. I just don't like to deal with hamsters so much because they tend to nip when they're in their cages. My experience was all garnered from living with animals for a big part of my life. It's not a professional service as in I do not do this for a living, but rest assured that I'll treat your pets with care and kindness. Also, this means that I do have a full-time job, hence I would only be available to visit your pet and house sit after normal office hours i.e. Mon-Fri, 9am-6pm.
