Germaine

Germaine was a great sitter, along with her Brother Skyler. They were able to administer medication to my two cats, and keep to the to do lists needed per visit. They updated me very regularly with pictures and text, even helped call the vet on occasion. They stayed longer with my cats than expected and provided more than enough care and love to them. Thank you for also being responsive at all times through Whatsapp!

This feed back is for Germaine’s boyfriend (Alois) who was looking after my cat on various occasions (it appears like they split the jobs based on their schedule to sit for the pets). This is not mentioned anywhere in her profile but she told me me this when I booked her the first time and I was not very concerned about it at that stage.

I noticed some problems with Alois initially who has visited my house on numerous ocassions but I let it slide. I also noticed that he had failed to fill enough food for my cat on one ocassion leaving her potentially starved till he showed up the next day. I also let it slide and sent him a whole list of instructions with bullet points asking what he needs to do on every visit (which he failed to read properly as he said).

Fast forward - on 12/05 I made another booking for 3 days for one visit, each day. On 12/07 I asked Alois if he had cleaned the cat litter the previous day (I asked this because my domestic helper had complained of a foul smell from the litter). Alois’ reply was - “No, I thought the litter was fine yesterday so I left it, I will definitely be cleaning it today”. I was quite shocked as cleaning the litter EVERYDAY is a basic task of the house visits.

Further more, I asked him if he had topped the food bowl for my cat so she could eat the next day. His answer was - “I did not, I gave her a can of chicken and the treats before I left” (this btw was done 24 hours before). I couldn’t believe what I was reading !! He had left my house at 7 pm the previous night leaving a can of chicken (which btw I had instructed to not feed due to ants coming over and since he failed to read my instructions he continued giving the cans) and left my pet without food for the entire next day and shows up at 6 :30 pm the next day (he has also been on numerous ocassions and has overslept etc indicating very poor discipline and punctuality). When I asked him what was he doing at my house for 1.5 hours if he couldn’t clean the litter and top up her food bowls, knowing that my pet will be alone for 24 hours - his response was - “I was petting simba (my pet) while rushing out a presentation slide for tommorrows event “. This baffles me even more because I didn’t pay him to sit at my home to work on his presentation slides.

I would strongly recommend to steer off this individual for any needs concerning a pet as he just doesn’t care. I’m also following up On a separate complain that I have lodged with Pawshake to take further action against this negligence and if required will engage SPCA or any local authority to report this matter so that NO other pet/pet owner has to go through this experience.
