I'm a mid-20s professional who just graduated from a stressful Master's degree and suddenly found herself with a lot of free time. I've always considered myself very maternal, and there's something about our animals that brings out a nurturing instinct in us. I don't have any pets of my own currently, so this is my way of vicariously having that experience.

In my experiences as a pet-sitter, TRUST is the key component. It is as much taking care of the owner as it is about the pet. After all, you need to have some peace of mind when you are away, that your home and animals are being taken care of. So please allow me to learn your needs and what gives you that sense of security, whether it's hourly/ daily updates or calls. If I am staying in your space, I will treat it with the same respect that I do mine and treat your pets like my children. That includes cleaning, watering plants and keeping things in order as well. Following that, I also hope you can respect me and my time/ efforts enough to compensate me as well, so we have a mutually beneficial relationship.

I work hybrid, so I can work remotely 2 days/ week. It would be good if this is at your place and I can borrow some wifi while I'm pet-sitting. I could also take them on walks in the afternoon/ evening if that's preferable. I love being active and moving around so that's a win-win. Around the holidays, I could even request to wfh the whole period.

I do have prior experience babysitting both a little dog (Maltipoo) and chonky cat at the same time, for ex-colleagues who were travelling for work. I recently took care of a British Longhair cat who needed to be brushed twice a day and played with a lot, as well as 2 other cats who were very anxious at first but became affectionate later on. I'm all-too-familiar with dogs who want to either run around and play or be on top of you when you're working, including my best friend's giant lovable labrador. I'm also familiar with the cool stoicism of cats which comes undone at feeding time, when they become drama queens. 

I'm even more familiar with both animals pooping/ puking at odd times and places as well as what triggers them, like overfeeding or not having clear litter. It's taught me a lot about being attuned to each animal and being firm about what's okay and what's not. Seeking the opinion and feedback from owners has also been crucial for me to provide the best service, so please feel free to tell me anything that I could do better.
