Hi! I'm Jessica, and from as early as I remember, I've had (and loved having) pets at home. I've lived with fish, turtles, chickens, hamsters, rabbits, cats and dogs.
We currently do not have any pets of our own as we aren’t able to commit long term at the moment, but absolutely love boarding and fostering felines!
All our furry staycationers will have access to the whole house (except master bedroom), day and night. As safety is of the utmost importance, all windows that are open are meshed with strong metal grilles.
Currently it's just my husband and I who live in a 4 room flat, so we only accept small dogs, cats or caged animals. With the pandemic, we are mainly home based, so there will always be someone around to keep your furkids company, and vice versa! 😻😍
We are currently fostering 3 cats who are healthy, but need to be socialized as they are feral/ semi-feral, before being put up for adoption. My foster cats are confined to a room so your pets will never cross paths to them (though they might smell them)
We absolutely love all animals and have boarded countless cats thus far and love them all so much.
Most cats are very shy in the first 1-3 days of being in a new environment. They don’t know what’s going on, and who they can trust. During this crucial period, I try my best to make them feel at home and give them their space while keeping a close eye on them to ensure they stay hydrated and are using the litter box.
Some special experiences we’ve had with our furry felines are:
- a cat who was so shy he stayed in his carrier and didn’t dare to come out. He refused to eat, so I’d boil his favourite chicken breast everyday and tempt him with it. Finally he ate it when I hand fed him, and he started to own the house and climb all over me when the snacks came out.
- a cat who’d always like to jump to the highest spots he can find in my house. Talk about top shelf of cabinet, or even cabinet above fridge.
- a cat who liked to ambush our feet from under the sofa
- a cat who only drinks fresh water from the sink (not even a fountain!)
- a heavily pregnant mama cat who gave birth and raised her kittens till they were 14 weeks old at my place
I could go on, but that’ll be too much to read 😅
Please feel free to reach out to me if you’d like to find out more 🥰
If you’d like your furmily to enjoy a Kitty Staycay with, the following will be included in the daily boarding rate:
1. Daily feeds
2. Daily water change
3. Daily litter box cleaning
4. Basic grooming (fur brushing & nail trims, if they allow)
5. Playtime every evening (if they are interested)
6. Medication (if necessary)
7. Regular updates either with pictures or text
8. Immediate transport to a 24 hr animal hospital incase of any emergencies (we are just 5 mins away). In the event of emergencies that require prompt medical review, we will not wait for a response from you. However, vet bills, if not reimbursable from Pawshake’s insurance, will have to be covered by you if the incident was not due to our negligence. We have never needed to activate this before, but I’m just putting it here because it’s always better the have a plan in the back pocket.
9. Any special requests (as long as reasonable) are welcome too!
Cat litter (tofu/ corn based) is included, so you’ll just need to bring along their food. We will follow your feeding schedule as closely as possible. We’ll just need to know the schedule!
Pick up and drop off is also available upon request, at an additional fee.
We look forward to meeting you and sharing our home with your furkids :)
Full refund if canceled before 12:00 p.m. one day before the booking, 50% refund afterward.
No refund is payable if the booking is canceled on or after the start date.
Note: All times are based on the sitter’s time zone
Jessica took wonderful care of my 15 year old cat, Guinness, while we were away for 9 days this September. As a senior cat, Guinness had quite a number of quirks that we have been accommodating over the past few years to make his daily life comfortable, and Jessica was more than willing to understand his needs and tailor the daily routine to make Guinness's stay comfortable.
I contacted Jessica earlier in year to share more about Guinness's needs, and some of the problems he occasionally encounters such as gobbling up his food too quickly which results in him throwing it up. Through our pre-boarding conversation with Jessica, it was clear that she is an experienced cat caregiver and through her questions and suggestions, we felt that Guinness would be happy and safe under her care. The environment was spacious, clean and definitely designed with cats' needs and their safety in mind.
This September, we were able to go away with peace of mind, knowing that Guinness was being well taken care of. During our trip, Jessica kept me up to date with Guinness's well being and informed me when anything needed my attention - with a cat his age, I really appreciated that.
Our experience with Jessica has been overwhelmingly positive for both our cat and us, and we will be boarding Guinness with Jessica again at the end of the year!
We highly recommend Jessica to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy cat-boarder, and wants the assurance that their cat is well taken care of in a safe, engaging and comfortable place.
Jessica is super friendly and helped us taken care of our cat extremely well when we are always for 2 weeks. Thank you Jessica!
