I often have close encounters with wildlife in my overseas self driven trips thus my rare unique background enables me to bond easily with the WILDEST pets. It is my professional
full-time permanent job, with my hub (Physical Education and Science teacher) as my right hand man. We are Godparents to several local and international pets.
*Help! I cannot handle when overwhelming number of pet owners look for me when they got cancelled by pet sitters. Rethink who you hire in future. Many pet owners had 4 to 5 popular pet sitters before sticking to me forever.*
*Dog owners have addressed concerns about their part time dog walkers sitting at sheltered areas and not walking their dogs, and residents' concerns about expensive pet hotels' untrained dog walkers (also high turnover rate) feeding wild monkeys and allowing dogs to pee at residents' plants. Screen dog walkers carefully. Profiles cannot be taken at face value.*
Pets will not remain well trained and well balanced if fickle owners switch unhealthily between multiple pet sitters and maids/friends/relatives/neighbors, resulting in many pets coming to me undisciplined and aggressive. I study them, build strong, long term relationships with them (and their owners), thus I have the same customers for up to 15 years or until their pets' last days. Priority goes to regular customers because long term bonding helps to reinforce discipline easily (on dogs) and train certain skills (on cats' hunting instinct) since they recognize my voice tone and no-nonsense style. I want to focus on a dedicated group of pet owners who likewise want to stick to a long term consistent pet sitter. My
No surcharge during festive/peak periods or odd hours. This is a sacrifice and passion on my part but visits/walks may be slightly shorter due to reunion dinners or festive visits/parties. Most pet sitters add surcharges even for short visits under 30 minutes or don't work during these periods at all. On my free days, I would call up regular dog customers to allow me to bring their dogs for dog runs.
Dog boarding (Vesak Day weekend in May: full; August National day weekend: 2 slots left; New Year's eve week: 2 slots left):
If you have never boarded your dog before, or if you have only boarded your dog at kennels, have him/her try out home boarding for a night or two first. Home boarding is an entirely different experience from your own home and kennels/pet hotels. Boarding at a landed property is also very different from flats/apartments/condos, as dogs get to see the outside world more and may bark at unfamiliar passing noise and movements.
House sitting (June 17 to July 14 not available):
Dog walking/pet sitting: from 8am onwards as my place experiences high traffic volume before that due to a top elite school (my alma mater) next door. About 45 mins on regular days, longer on freer days. I cannot adhere to a particular strict timing as I go by route planning which is time and gas efficient for me. I would appreciate flexible timings.
I reinforce obedience/discipline. I will NOT walk your dog if you often have other dog walkers who do it as a hobby/temp job or friends/neighbors/relatives offered it free because dogs easily pick up bad habits from them.
It is frustrating to undo these and to repeatedly retrain the dogs.
Proactive genuine dog owners have feedback that many dog walkers/boarders undermine discipline.
I have tackled mongrels, stubborn and skittish dogs who struggled with or refused other dog walkers. My physique, tanned skin and scars are proofs of experience.
I do brisk walking or jogging and in under 40 mins (sometimes within 20 mins), the dogs surrender and stop, including Huskies, Retrievers, Labs, Samoyeds, Mongrels, Pointers, Wheatens, Shepherds! I stretch their stamina and energy levels. DO NOT OVERESTIMATE your dogs and risk them getting heatstroke just because you pay for it and want to make your money's worth. Recently it was in the news that a GR got heatstroke after 20 mins at a 9+am dog run.
My face is an access pass to at least 30 condos due to my unique van and my excellent PR with security guards whom I have bonded with and some hilariously communicate with me in pet language! I only cover central areas. I have brought pets to the vet, reached homes not easily accessible, handled homes' water leakage and ant/roach problem. We have cared for pets' heartbreaking last moments while owners are away. We still keep in touch and have visited pet owners who relocated overseas, we share pet food recipes and wildlife travels. I also make my own cat toys.
As a cat sitter, I have easily tackled shy/skittish cats. Such cats have reportedly turned aggressive and attack due to multiple changing of cat sitters who also couldn't handle them. Cats will not be bribed. They look for certain characteristics in cat sitters. I studied big cats and their hunting skills/instincts from lion rehabilitation camps, and have (unexpectedly) turned some outdoor cats, Bengal, Turkish Van, Maine Coon, Persians, Ragdolls, Siberian etc into panting ninjas!
Regular customers get negotiated rates. I ferried regular dog customers in my Honda Civic for 10 years. I now have a new van! Dog owners feedback that the van is definitely better than the car. I love driving (and motorcycling), and have clocked at least 30,000km (19,000 miles) on the roads of the above countries that I have self driven.
If you have any unwanted pet food that are not yet expired and wish to donate them to pet shelters, please contact me as it's part of my volunteer work.

Gift of instruction - especially in the areas of animals and performing arts. High level of patience and creativity. Highly sought after but prefer to keep a low profile as I don't want to tire myself.
Gift of leadership - often chosen to lead in performing arts area because I am firm and assertive, I build relationships and communicate/articulate well - probably contributed to easy and successful walking of stubborn and selective dogs. I am a pack leader!
Resourceful - I am very well travelled and thus blessed to have very good knowledge and connections, so I know where to get quality stuff at good deals. I have driven in to Malaysia several times, about every 3 months. Many relatives there too.
Excellent driving skills, even in heavy downpour with zero visibility or on streets with zero lights and reflectors (yes, Africa) - I have been told that I drive more than an average American in the USA itself due to the many national parks I have visited. Driven all kinds of cars, MPVs, SUVs, vans. Rode a motorbike for 10 years but stopped after getting married. Wanted to try class 4, but no time.
Planner - helped friends with overseas full trip planning, led visitors around Singapore
Sharp sense of sight (very observant, detect movements quickly), hearing (can hear distant noises like water drips/running, slight movement noise, high pitches - did much sound mixing for music bands in the past, ears get painful at loud feedback and screaming kids), smell (can detect a roach, rat or certain animal in an enclosed area; nauseat upon bad smell).
Personality - free spirited, adventurous, rugged, gutsy, strict, fussy, selective, cautious, firm, assertive, meticulous, dedicated, consistent.
