Beryl looked after my Sophie for more than a week while I was overseas. It was my first time leaving her home alone but having beryl send me daily photo and video updates really eased my worries a lot and made my holiday a lot more enjoyable. She even went out of her way to do a lot of little extras like vacuuming up the litter that fell on the floor, buying toys to play with her and giving her a good brushing daily. I could tell she took pet sitting very seriously and she was extremely professional and competent. My super shy cat totally fell in love with her towards the end as I could tell from how much she purred in the videos Beryl took of her! I highly recommend her and would not hesitate to use her services again the next time I go overseas!
House sitting on Pawshake means that a pet sitter stays at your house and takes care of your pet(s) while you are away.
While you are travelling or in emergency situations: There are many possible reasons why you might need a house sitter. Most often, you will need somebody to care for your pets while you are travelling, whether it’s a business trip, an extended family visit or a relaxed holiday. You might also need a pet sitter while you are staying at the hospital, or have to be away for any other reason.
Whatever the reason, you can count on your Pawshake pet and house sitter!
The more, the merrier: House sitting is a good solution for pet owners who have lots of pets, so it might be impractical to board them all and insufficient to have them visited only once or twice a day. It also works for pets who are too stressed by the change of environment that boarding entails, but suffer from separation distress, so they can't be left alone between visits either.
Free Meet & Greet: The first step is to search for a house sitter in your area who suits your needs and is available. Contact them and arrange a Meet & Greet so you can get to know each other and see whether you are a good match.
Pay through Pawshake: If you all get along well, book and pay safely via Pawshake.
Top house sitting tips:
Know what your house and pets are up to: While you are away, the pet sitter will send you text or photo updates via the Pawshake website or app. That way, you never need to worry about them.
Trusted, vetted and insured: On Pawshake you can find trusted and vetted pet sitters in your area. Your pets are covered by our Pet Protection insurance during the stay.
No need to feel bad: A dedicated house sitter can be a great alternative to asking your neighbour or your mother in law to stay over. Many pet owners are embarrassed about asking friends or relatives to take care of their pets – a Pawshake pet sitter will be happy to help you out!
