About Chin
Hi there! I'm Chin Yi and Lil Mac is the resident Singapore Special. We stay in a humble 4-room hdb and have been involved in rescue work for about 7 years now.
More about me:
I started out with volunteering at a shelter and helping out at a vet practice for 2 months before going on to fostering and rehabilitation, with some rescue work on the side. I have experience mostly with our local street dogs and have looked after friends' dogs. I have handled dogs that are skittish, behavioral issues like food aggression and have fostered puppies and senior dogs alike. I used to work at a daycare centre overseeing multiple dogs too. Because fostering and rescuing is financially taxing, I am offering boarding and daycare services to buffer some of the expenditure involved. Daily updates will be provided. We are able to cater to specific dietary requests (eg raw-fed, home-cooked) but due to religious reasons, are unable to have beef in the house.
Skills:
1. Basic grooming (nail trim, ear cleaning etc)
2. Feeding of medication
3. Basic training (house-breaking etc)
More about Lil Mac:
Lil Mac is a big boy despite his name, but is a small boy at heart who tends to startle easily. He is a dog who appreciates his space at home but will initiate play with familiar dogs outdoors. In order to accommodate his need for space, we run a tight ship at home to make sure that the dogs are able to co-exist in a safe space. If there is no supervision, dogs will be kept separated either by a playpen or a crate (if dog is crate trained), or be placed in separate spaces (ie in different rooms). Mac has been a foster bro to 7 dogs with little issues due to the structure that we have in place and can co-exist with other dogs once he warms up.
Things to note:
1. We will only take in 1 guest each time, unless they are from the same family.
2. Guests will have to be up to date with vaccinations (proof in the form of vaccination cert or most recent titre test) and be on flea and tick prevention (either prescription or natural).
3. Safety is our utmost priority, which means that we are unfortunately unable to take in guests who are human and/or dog aggressive and can't be confined for short periods of time.
4. Guests will have to either be pee-pad trained or grass-trained. In the event where potty training is required, there will be additional charges.
While it might seem that we are very strict on the guests that we are hosting, at the end of the day, we want to achieve a pleasant experience for both the resident dog and our guests while ensuring the safety of all parties. If there are any questions for us, please feel free to reach out!
