Hi! I am a passionate animal lover who genuinely enjoys spending time with pets and caring for them. Becoming a pet sitter is meaningful to me because I understand how important pets are to their owners — they are family. I want every pet owner to feel assured that their furry companion is safe, comfortable, loved, and well cared for while they are away.

Although I may not have much professional pet sitting experience, I do have hands-on experience caring for animals. For more than 10 years, I have been caring for a neighbourhood cat that became very close to me over time. I regularly helped to feed and monitor him, and when he developed a fungal infection around his neck, I brought him to the vet and carefully applied his medication during recovery. I have also previously walked an adult Golden Retriever, which helped me gain confidence handling larger dogs during walks.

As a student, I generally have a flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate proper time and attention to the pets under my care. I am comfortable caring for up to 2 pets at a time to ensure each pet receives enough supervision, attention, and care. I enjoy being active and do not mind walking — or even going for light runs — with dogs for around 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on their energy levels and needs.

I understand that every pet has a different personality. Some are energetic and playful, while others may be shy, anxious, or reactive. For shy pets, I focus on giving them space, patience, and time to warm up at their own pace. For reactive pets, I stay calm, observant, and avoid situations that may overstimulate or stress them during walks or interactions. I always adapt my approach based on the pet’s comfort level to help them feel safe and relaxed.

Safety is always my priority. During walks, I remain alert to the surroundings, ensure leashes are secured properly, avoid unsafe or overcrowded areas when necessary, and closely monitor the dog’s behaviour at all times. In the event of an emergency, I will remain calm, contact the owner immediately, and seek veterinary assistance if needed.

I also believe that communication is very important. I will keep owners updated regularly with messages and photos so they can feel reassured and connected with their pets while away. For safety reasons, I would prefer pets that are vaccinated before entering my home environment.
