Additional Training while owner is present is at an additional cost; if your dog pulls on walks, I can teach you how to correct that and get them to be more engaged with you.
I work with anxious, timid or reactive dogs through walks. I'm currently working on a freelance basis while I complete my diploma in canine & feline nutrition. I care a lot for animals and believe that both pets and humans need to mutually respect each other in order to see a change in the relationship. I have a strong interest in dog behaviour psychology, which is why I'd like to meet as many different pet personalities through walks and at the same time provide a service to owners who need a helping hand for their dogs/ cats/ rabbits that require necessary exercise and attention.
My training method in accordance with the International Association of Animal Behaviour Consultants (IABB), which I am still a trainee of. I am in regular communication with a certified dog behaviour specialist who guides me along the way. Most weekday mornings are flexible for me. I'm happy to take Saturday jobs but I try to avoid Sundays.
The first meet and greet is complimentary. It gives us the opportunity to get to know each other, and for me to assess on whether I can actually commit to your dog.
Unless your dog has special requirements, a typical walk would last 30mins - 45mins and would include these services: (1) spending time with your dog so that he/she is comfortable with me (2) a video of your dog's interaction with me taken in a safe place (3) a report of your dog after the walk.
For reactive dogs, additional time may be required to gain their trust before we start the walk Thus I'd recommend a 1.5hr session for walking.
Dog Daycare services are from 9am - 6pm. Pick up and drops offs can be arranged.
For daycare & boarding, a meet shall be arranged at my premises and I'll be able to give you a tour of the area. We have a spacious garden for dogs to run around, and aircon can be provided for dogs that require it.
A trial stay (1 full day + night) is required for dogs before we commit to them staying for an extended period of time.
My past experience of pet care would be for cats, dogs (of all sizes), and small animals (i.e rabbits). This is usually for family and friends. I take the extra effort for their pets to feel comfortable with me before the actual day of pet sitting or walking commences. This also allows me to ensure I notice any nuances that are required to report back to their owners. Pet walks wouldn't only involve walking your dog but also mentally engaging them.
Joanne went above and beyond for our dog. Our dog Bear is not keen on other dogs and can be on alert in the evenings. She was very attuned to Bear's needs and matched his energy. She knew when he wanted pets, alone time, and most importantly, when he needed additional support (in the form of treats) to feel more relaxed and comfortable while we were away. She gave us peace of mind while we were away for the long weekend and got along so well with our dog. I couldn't thank her enough for her time and effort <3
Can’t recommend Joanne enough!
