5+ years working with dogs in the daycare/boarding environment, locally and briefly overseas in New Zealand. Experience with various breeds with a special interest in fearful dogs as I have one of my own. Currently undergoing training to become a certified dog trainer (IAABC).

My practical knowledge caring for dogs of all sizes in a caretaking environment includes basic grooming (took a course), basic first aid knowledge (canine first aid responder certified), administration of medication (oral, topical), simple and easy exercises that encourage the use of muscles to improve overall mobility and motor skills in dogs. I'm also a big believer in enrichment for dogs to engage their olfactory senses and decompress throughout the day; effectively maintaining and/or achieving a calm baseline emotional state.
