Hello! I'm Cheryl, thank you for clicking on my Pawshake profile. In my personal introduction below, I hope to share with you a little about myself, why I decided to start dog sitting, and how I would care for your furkid. Browsing through my photo album would also give you a sneak peek into my doggie day care and boarding experiences. ❤️

I'm a mummy to 3 furkids. They are very much the joy of my life, and the main reason why I need to keep my day job. 😅

I am proud to share that I recently (on 27 Dec'24) earned my PetSaver™ CPR, First Aid & Care program certification for dogs and cats offered by Fido’s Pawpose in partnership with Pet Tech® International, a leading provider of corporate training in pet first responder programs. 

This internationally recognised certification equipped me with essential skills, including but not limited to:

✅️ 3 styles of CPR

✅️ Bleeding and choking protocols

✅️ Snout-To-Tail™ injury assessment

✅️ Hot and cold injuries

✅️ Seizure management

I'm also very excited that I've started my basic grooming course with an award-winning groomer (they are the groomers which I've been sending my own furkids to for close to two decades).

About My Motivation

Dedicating so much of my love and attention to my furkids has helped me to understand some key concerns as a pawrent when we have to be apart from them for a period of time.

❤️ Wanting reliable and trustworthy help when I'm at work, when I travel or in times of emergency

❤️ Preferring a single, familiar homecare rather then commercial boarding

❤️ Appreciate having someone to keep a close eye on my furkids as much as possible

In short, I would love to have someone to care for my furkids like family, ensuring their well-being, happiness and safety the same way I do, when I'm unable to be around for them. 

And this is the very reason which prompted me to offer our home to another precious furkid, during periods where I am available. Offering you peace of mind, and trusted care for your precious one, during that short duration when you have to be away. And for your furkid, a home away from home.

About My Home Environment

I live in an apartment (with a small balcony) within a private compound with plenty of green areas for leisurely walks. East Coast Park is a stone's throw away, and easily accessible via an underground walkway.

I'm quite particular about cleanliness, so my home is always kept clean and tidy. Floors are vaccumed and mopped several times a day, and carpets are steamed weekly. My furkids' beds and toys are washed weekly. Furry paws are wiped down after every walk before entering the home. Water bowl is washed and filled with fresh water every couple of hours. Filtered water fountain is cleaned daily and the filter changed bi-weekly.

During the day, multiple fans are switched on around the house for air circulation and to ensure a cool environment. If the weather gets too warm, the air conditioning will be switched on (I'm afraid of the heat myself 🤣). At night, the air conditioning is switched on throughout as we sleep. Whenever the air conditioning is working, the air purifer will be switched on as well.

About Day Care and Boarding with Me

During your furkid's time with me,

1) I usually accept ONE furkid per session of day care/boarding. This is to ensure dedicated attention for all furkids under my care. However, on a case-by-case basis and dependent on assessment and mutual suitability, I will consider accepting a maximum of TWO furkids per session.

2) You can rest assured that I will be home with your furkid at all times; constant supervision without being left alone.

3) I'll be able to:
 
✅️ work with you to understand and accommodate your furkid's unique needs and routine.

✅️ take your furkid on walks and potty breaks.

✅️ provide regular/timely updates with photos.

✅️ assist with feeding of oral medication or health supplements.

✅️ provide basic brushing of coat and teeth (tools to be provided).

✅️ shower and blow dry your furkid at a fee. Based on availability.
       - $20 per session (small dogs only)

4) Your furkid will be allowed to roam freely around my home. As such, I will require your furkid to be fully potty-trained; either house-trained (I've a pee tray setup in my bathroom) or on grass when we go for our walks.

5) When boarding, your furkid will sleep together with me, in my bedroom. Air conditioning and air purifer will be switched on for a more comfortable sleep.

6) Your furkid is required to be up-to-date with his/her annual vaccination and must be on monthly flea & tick prevention (all of mine are). Please share a snapshoot of your furkid's vaccination record for verification. All medical conditions must be fully disclosed, especially if transmissible. I will NOT compromise on these points, as they can lead to serious (life-threatening) consequences. These are to ensure the health and safety of both our furkids. ❤️

7) I am only able to open my home to male furkids which are neutered. Unfortunately, my 2 boys (which are neutered), have some anxiety towards males who aren't. With ladies, they are most welcoming! 😂

Some details to note:

📝 Full-day day care is from 9am to 6pm (early drop off possible with prior mutual agreement). There will be an additional $5 charge for every hour extended. Full-day day care includes minimum 2 x 20 min walks per session.

📝 Boarding is on a 24hr basis. Drop off can be anytime between 9am to 6pm (early drop off possible with prior mutual agreement). There will be an additional $5 charge for every hour extended. Boarding includes minimum 3 x 20 min walks per day.

📝 Before confirming day care or boarding, I would like for us to have a meet & greet, so both pawrents and furkids can get to know each other and be comfortable.

📝 For boarding, I require that your furkid does or has had at least one session of day care with me prior to the boarding period. This is to foster a sense of familiarity and connection to ensure the best boarding experience for your furkid (and to ease separation anxiety).

📝 Whether day care or boarding, please prepare the following items to be brought along - food, treats, feeding bowl, pee pads, diapers, poop bags, wet wipes, bed, collar+tag, harness and leash. Additionally, any favourite toys or even your worn tee shirt is a good idea as your scent comforts them.

📝 Do prepare a list of items I should take note of regarding your furkid eg: feeding habits, dietary requirements etc (as I like to be well prepared 😉). 

📝 Do note that there will be additional charges on the eve and on public holidays, as well as during the Lunar New Year period (starting 7 days before the eve of LNY until the last day of the 15 days of LNY -- 09 Feb'26 to 03 Mar'26 ).
       - $10 per session for day care
       - $20 per day for boarding

📝 If you require pick-up/drop-off on the day of your furkid's day care or boarding, transportation (between 9am to 6pm) may be arranged at a fee. Based on availability.
       - $35 one way
       - $5 for second furkid (same household)

📝 Large furkid 18kg and above, will be considered on a case by case basis, dependent on mutual suitability. Additional fees will apply at $20 per session for day care and $30 per day for boarding. 

I seek your understanding that I'm not confident to be able to provide the best care for furkids who may display hostile behaviours, have destructive habits or are highly anxious when away from their pawrents. As such, I would recommend for you to reach out to caregivers who are experienced in these areas, to ensure the best care for your furkid.
