About Jo
I provide gentle, attentive care for cats, dogs, animals and plants, always prioritising comfort, safety and hygiene, with plenty of play and reassurance.
Animals have always been a huge part of my family life. My father keeps birds and my brother keeps hamsters, so I’m familiar with feeding routines, cage cleaning and general animal care beyond cats and dogs.
I currently have three cats, all with very different personalities. I raised one of my cats from a tiny kitten into a healthy, playful and energetic adult, so I understand the time, stimulation and affection kittens need. I also adopted an abandoned breeding cat and cared for her through her cancer journey, supporting her gently and lovingly all the way until her passing. That experience taught me how important patience, sensitivity and presence are, especially for cats who are older, ill or emotionally fragile.
I’m comfortable caring for cats at all life stages. I believe every cat is unique. I always follow their lead.
I also have hands-on experience with dogs, having lived with four dogs in my life, from small breeds like pugs to large breeds such as German Shepherds. I understand how excitable dogs can be during walks, and I handle them with calm energy, patience and awareness. I take responsibility seriously and always ensure dogs are walked safely and that public spaces are kept clean.
I’m also very comfortable with pet-care equipment and home setups. I regularly help pet owners with:
- Setting up or adjusting pet cameras
- Calibrating auto feeders
- Troubleshooting auto litter boxes if they get stuck
If something isn’t working while you’re away, I’m happy to help sort it out.
I’m also a plant lover and plant sitter. My home is full of plants, including some exotic varieties. I’ve grown plants from seeds, propagated cuttings, mounted ferns on wooden boards and cared for plants under grow lights. I understand different plants have different water, light and care needs, and I’m happy to help keep your greenery happy while you’re away.
Most importantly, I aim to create a calm, safe and comforting environment for every pet I care for. I want you to feel completely at ease knowing your pets and home are in good hands.
