Hi! My name is Melissa, and I’m new to Pawshake. I was a proud dog owner for almost 13 years to my beloved Golden Retriever, Clover, who passed away in 2025. Clover was a very special part of my life, and caring for him gave me many years of wonderful experience and deepened my love for animals. I have always loved animals and truly enjoy spending time with them. Currently I have 2 bunnies that I adopted and 3 hamsters at home. 

Becoming a pet sitter allows me to combine my passion for animals with the opportunity to help pet owners feel comfortable and confident while they are away. I understand that pets are family members, and my goal is to make them feel safe, loved, and relaxed while they are in my care. Knowing that I can provide companionship, attention, and proper care for pets while their owners are busy or traveling brings me great joy and fulfillment.

I have experience caring for dogs, rabbits, and hamsters for friends and family members. I’m happy to care for rabbits as well. To make sure every pet receives my full attention and enjoys a calm, safe environment, I usually only host either rabbits or dogs at one time. This allows me to focus on their individual needs, routines, and comfort during their stay. However, if a pet owner is comfortable with it and the pets are suitable to stay together, I may consider hosting both with proper supervision to ensure everyone remains safe and stress-free. 

Through these experiences, I have learned how to understand different pet personalities, follow feeding routines, provide exercise and walks, and ensure pets feel comfortable and safe in my home. I am patient, responsible, and attentive to each pet’s individual needs. I will also provide regular updates so pet owners can feel reassured and at ease while they are away.

My household is small and quiet, consisting of just myself, my husband, and a few small pets. We live in our own two-bedroom condominium with a spacious covered patio where pets can relax and move around comfortably. I am currently taking a break from my full-time career and teaching piano lessons part-time from home, which means I am home most of the time and your furkid will rarely be left alone. If I return to the workforce in the future, I will inform pet owners in advance and ensure that I am still able to provide the same level of care and attention for your dog. 

We live in the east, just a five-minute walk from Bedok Reservoir, which is perfect for dogs who enjoy walks and nature. Pets staying with us can freely roam around the home, including the covered patio, making it a comfortable and relaxing environment for them.

Some of the services I provide include:

• Two to three walks daily (morning, evening, and before bedtime)
• Healthy and quality treats
• Home-cooked meals / meal topper if the dog does not have a special diet
• Showering if needed, or assistance arranging grooming nearby (cost to be covered by the pet owner)
• Gentle massage and assistance with medication if required

Pet parents are kindly requested to provide their pet’s essentials such as food, kibble, supplements, treats, medication, vaccination records, and veterinarian details.
